Huge congratulations to undergraduate researcher, Udit Gupta, who has been awarded the Excellence in Research Award from the Office of Undergraduate Research! Udit presented his work at the 2024 Undergraduate Research Day in April 2024. This $500 award recognizes his excellence in research and is well deserved! Well done, Udit!!

We are excited to share that two of our lab's undergrads, Autumn Hengen and Udit Gupta, have been chosen as this year's recipients of the Outstanding Senior Award from the Fischell Department of Bioengineering! We are blessed to have both recipients in our lab!  Awesome job, Autumn and Udit!!! 

A huge congratulations goes to undergraduate researcher Autumn Hengen, who successfully defended her Honors thesis today! Her thesis was titled, "Characterization of Aquaporin 5 in Breast Cancer Spheroid Formation, Invasion, and Angiogenesis." Autumn has worked in the lab since February 2022, soon after which she was accepted into the Bioengineering Honors Program. While in the lab, Autumn completed her 2-year thesis, co-authored a paper, presented her work at Undergraduate Research Day and the BMES Mid-Atlantic JHU-UMD event, and contributed towards multiple other manuscripts that are in their final stages. She recently received the 2024 Outstanding Senior Award from the Fischell Department of Bioengineering as well as an Honorable Mention recognition from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship competition. Autumn will be pursuing a PhD in biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech starting this fall. Great job and congratulations, Autumn!!!

Congratulations to undergraduate researcher, Yoshi Chettri, who was selected to receive the SPIRE Award from UMD's Office of Undergraduate Research! This award will provide a $3000 stipend to support his summer research in the lab. Great job, Yoshi!

Huge congratulations to Udit Gupta, an undergraduate researcher in the lab, who was awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship! This fellowship will fully support his first 3 years of his PhD research. Awesome job, Udit!

Also congrats to Autumn Hengen, who is completing her BIOE undergraduate Honors thesis in the lab. Autumn was recognized with an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Honorable Mention! Great job, Autumn!

Today Kim gave the NHLBI seminar talk and had the opportunity to meet with NIH investigators. Huge thanks to everyone in NHLBI for a great day and many inspiring conversations!
