Congratulations to Ariana De Castro (PhD student), who presented her research at the AACR Special Conference on Metastasis this week in Portland, OR! Ariana is a 5th year PhD student in the lab and her work focuses on the effects of the organotropic tumor cell secretome on endothelial cell junction and barrier integrity. Congrats, Ariana!
Huge congratulations to Hiya Sawhney, who defended her Honors thesis project today! Hiya's thesis was titled, "The impact of the breast cancer cell secretome on induced brain microvascular endothelial cell tight junctions." After Hiya graduates with her B.S. degree this December, she will start a post-bac research position at the NIH, and she plans to apply for MD-PhD programs next year. Congratulations and excellent work, Hiya!
