I am excited to announce that I have been selected as one of 12 this year to receive the Burroughs Wellcome Career Award at the Scientific Interface! This $500,000 grant will fund the remaining portion of my postdoc as well as the beginning years of my faculty position, for a total of five years (2014-2019). This award is based on my proposal to apply our Osmotic Engine Model to brain-seeking tumor cells and to combine engineering, physics, and biology techniques to unravel mechanisms of tumor cell metastasis across the blood-brain barrier. A huge thank you to the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for this award!!!
